Warren Stickney

Financial Advisor and Founder of Stickney Research

Warren Stickney is the Founder and Principal of Stickney Research. He has helped individuals and families navigate complex financial decisions since 1996. Before founding the firm, Warren led the Estate Planning Division of a Fortune 100 financial services company for six years. There, he built a strong foundation in advanced planning and client advocacy.

Warren created Stickney Research to keep financial guidance personal and thoughtful. He wanted a firm small enough to choose its client relationships carefully. This structure allows the team to focus on long-term outcomes and meaningful partnerships.

Education plays a central role in Warren’s work. He believes clients and staff make better decisions when they understand the concepts behind them. Each year, Warren spends more than 60 days in continuing education through programs such as the Aspen Institute and The Economist forums. This ongoing study helps him bring a broader perspective to financial, business, and estate planning.

Clients know Warren for his ability to simplify complex financial and estate planning concepts. He helps people understand their financial past, present, and future. His work focuses on clarity rather than jargon.

Philanthropy also shapes Warren’s professional life. He actively supports charitable organizations in the Puget Sound region and across the United States. Warren has served for more than ten years on the Boards of the Pike Place Market Foundation and the Anderson Ranch Foundation. Through his work with the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation, he has helped secure donations and grants for both local and national charities.

Warren is the author of two best-selling books. He has also written reports and articles for the Eastside Journal, the Seattle PI, and Physicians NW Magazine. He speaks regularly for NAIFA, Estate Planning Councils, and philanthropic organizations.

His professional affiliations include the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the International Forum, and lifetime membership in the Million Dollar Round Table and Top of the Table.

Outside of work, Warren enjoys music, skiing, and travel. He values time spent with his family.
